This is a scene from a very important/must see Palestinian film produced in 2002 – DIVINE INTERVENTION (Yadon Ilahiyah) by Elia Suleiman.
It was produced mainly thru French funding, and the producer was Humbert Balsan – the French producer known for financing and distribution of rather challenging films, and was a huge force behind getting some good Arabic films made. He killed himself in 2005, seeing no hope. If only he was a little bit more patient! Balsan also helped produce a lot of the Merchant Ivory films – a company who rolled out some excellent films.
DIVINE INTERVENTION was accepted into the Oscars Nom as an exception since it was Palestinian.
If you’re interested in Arab cinema – this is an important project to learn about.
amazing..as a video as a production, special effects..and most of all the idea and the hidden symbols.
I thought it was Iranian production at first.. then I saw the girl showing her hair, not so sure who produced it now or is it a part of a movie.. it say made by Sundance 00, not sure if that means the Sundance festival or a production house called Sundance.. anyhow, enjoy
