Failed journey from Jerusalem to Ramallah
Few months back, i was heading to Ramallah to speak at a Birzeit University center. I had no clue that Thursday was a bad choice. During weekends, Palestinians from different West Bank cities head to Ramallah, and Israel simply shuts down the Qualandia crossing and diverts all traffic to Jaba' road, which is already jammed. I never made it beyond Qualandia refugee camp, where my car broke down after 3 hours of not moving more than 1km. I then found someone to fix it then head back home, the whole thing took around 5 hours.
What a frustrating day!
