Thanks for the explanation Faten, i thought this mayor sided with the Palestinians for some time then turned into supporting israel. Anyway, LA and California in general has a lot of jewish influence (e.g. Hollywood) Arab Americans are unfortunately not so influential, but i think the strength should be built within the community through grassroots

When everyone is granted a right to their own opinion,BUT WHY Villaraigosa would want to take a side on a battle about 6,000 miles away. Why would Antonio Villaraigosa publicly say that he stands behind Israel without giving the Palestinian side a look at the situation? He was elected to be a mayor of L.A, not to take side between citizens of L.A and to drag himself and his constituents into international conflicts in the Middle East. When he visited Israel Last year why didn’t he cross over the wall to see the people of Gaza. But then again what good would the ghettos of Gaza do toward the election this year When Angalenos vote for mayor. We don’t have billions in revenue to support him even if he did side with us. He did say that he would be willing to sit down with members of Los Angeles’ Palestinian and Muslim communities to address any issues but after what, and I don’t think it even happened.
