Faten, thanks for your suggestion. I know that a lot of people add EVOO to it, but i intended to make this recipe fat free, and it is! :)
Try to make Fatteh with the Adas soup, it is really good, you need toasted pita bread, lemon juice and a little garlic, add the soup to it and done! garnish with fresh cut parsley and enjoy!

I know Yusef Islam was Cat stevens, Thats why I like his style whatever his name is.

And try Extra Virgin Olive Oil ( EVO) in your edas next time. It is a must. It is extremly good for your health and it gives the soup a yummi taste and sheen.

George, sometimes i add different veggies to it, depends on what i have in the fridge and according to the season. you do not really taste the other vegetables, the most taste you get is the lentils and the veggies added to add more vitamins and minarls to the recipe….healthier in other ways!

i heard of carrots with the soup but not potato and spinach, can’t imagine the taste, might be nice :)

I love 3adas.. when its winter time, i put it in a mug , and i sip it as if its tea or coffee .. well, not the whole time though hehe

Solid Snake, it seems like you do not like vegetables!!! i know very well that it is very tasty without adding anything but lentils and onions to it, but again, i do not follow the traditional recipe my mother and grandmother used to make, i make my own that suits my taste. i add the vegetables to add more nutritional value to it….and it does taste very good.

Faten, When Yusef Islam sang that song he was known by the name Cat Stevens..so i kept it this way! :)
i add vegetable to it for the nutrition value and it gives it a better taste. i do not add oil to it so it is true fat free soup. try it!

The soup looks yummy, by the way. i never added anything with the lentials other then onion and olive oil. But still kooks yum
