amrtheproud: Pheras and Mazen, many sects of Islam in the region of Bilad Al Sham (Great Syria) don’t forbid drinking, especially the alawites in Syria an Lebanon, and the Ismaiilies. although it’s forbidden in the Durzi faith, drinking is normal among Druze till they rich the age of wisdome 40, but still many of them drink nomatter what.
Pheras, there is a diffrence between what you really are and what you want to be, and there is a diffrence between being open-minded and being a copy cat! this is what the Lebanese are (most of them), they immitate without trying to keep their ID, and I don’t think it’s good at all.
and you might see the labene people so happy on the TV and so open minded, but in reality when it comes to relegious sects they are so racist against each others and against the other nations.

M@ZEN | patriotic: I might have not considered other religions, but I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree with your generalization. Even in Bible overdrinking is considered a sin. All countries forbid drivers from driving while drunk. Half of all the traffic deaths in the United States are caused by people who have had at least one drink prior to driving. Still is drinking generally not a sin? Or perhaps you’d want to watch Dr.Phil and judje with your mind. Make that clear next time please.

pheras86: Islam is not the only religion in the world, so Arak or alcohol is general isn’t a sin; it’s a sin according to Islam. Make that clear next time please.
You’re being very negative towards the Lebanese. Though I have to "shway" agree with you about them being ashamed of the picture. Lebanese people tend to believe that they are European, but from the way that I look at it, I think they should, most Arabs aren’t as progressive and open minded. Lebanese people are definetely closer to them than they’re closer to us. And that’s a good thing honestly. I’m not trying to say lose your identity people, what I’m trying to say is try to learn how to be happy and savor life. Lebanese people are experts at that.

amrtheproud: well a Lebanese never been ashamed of holding Arak, maybe the Lebanese of nowdays will feel ashemed of the photo because those two people don’t have the "European" look..
Ariel Sharon was right only once in his life time when he discribed the Lebanese people as:
Kissing the hands of their women in the night, killing each others’ childern at night.

M@ZEN | patriotic: I wonder what things are going in the background.. Vengeance is one aspect to mention. Why didn’t we consider it as a to-keep heritage? Because it’s a sin in both sides of the coin: Life and Religion. And so goes – or at least should – for the Araq.
Nice photo BTW ;)
