jhoiern: I love all your photos, they’re really great. I’ve always thought saudi arabia was kinda cool. I don’t like the religious police though. I think you could run a religious country without being oppressive. Maybe that’s just me, I guess. I never really liked that woman had to cover their heads.
I’m a guy myself, but I guess I was just raised with liberal principles- an emphasis on freedom and equality. So I just get peeved when culture and belief get enforced.
But everything else about the culture is- I gotta say- cool. Seriously, Saudi pizza hut. Never liked pizza hut myself – too greasy in America, but my friends like it a lot, so maybe it just varies from person to person.
I need to get back to my biomedical studies. :D But these photos of the aljazeera studios are cool, along with your other saudi arabia photos. You’re probably the person on flickr who has really most expressed the personal aspects of Saudi culture. That’s really awesome in my view. You get admiration for being a good, prolific, and dedicated photographer, and a quick wit (I especially love your donuts song, just discovered it a few min. ago).
